Skyline Chili Gathering 2000
Rain or shine they came to eat Skyline. The Internet BMW Riders (IBMWR) held the first Skyline Rally on Saturday, May 20th. We gathered at BMW of the Tristate starting at 9:00 am and had 65 riders from 17 states by 11:30 - prize drawing time. BMW Tristate contributed three $25 gift certificates for the drawing along with a dozen cans of Skyline for door prizes. At noon we completely filled the Beckett Ridge Skyliner. All of us donning our Skyline Rally T-shirts. They were well prepared for us and served us quickly and efficiently and had us out of there in an hour. It was interesting and amusing to witness Skyline virgins scarfing down 5 ways and cheese coneys. After our Skyline fix, the group rode to Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum for an IMAX movie. Some rode back to wherever they were going and some came over to house for camping, Beemer talk, and of course more eating. Making sure they had their fill, Kim fixed Skyline dip. Howard's chicken wings and keg-O-Morlien were a big hit. It was a great time and I met many new friends... some of which I had conversed with over the Internet. This all came about from an email posting in January from a guy who calls himself "The Bunny" who had a hankerin' for a 5-way.
