JokerPoker Software (JPS) has been established to develop
high quality software to advise and support internet poker players while they are playing on-line.
JPS's initial offering is HoldemCoach which provides essential statistical information regarding the
player's hand during on-line play as well as well as the compilation and summary of the results of
sessions played. HoldemCoach is currently in an Evaluation / Beta Test period with the objective of
soliciting input from internet poker players prior to releasing the final product.
In summary, the purpose of HoldemCoach is twofold:
HoldemCoach computes the current value of the player's hand at any point in the deal using the two hole
cards and the community cards. This value represents the player's equity and provides a relative
value of the player's hand vs. all other possible hands. In addition, HoldemCoach computes winning
percentages against the likely subset of hands that would have called to give a realistic indication
of the value of the player's hand against the probable set of opponents. These values may be used as a
guide for making decisions during play.
HoldemCoach keeps lots of statistics for each session of play so the player can track his results
over a period of time and get a realistic idea of progress made, differences playing on different
sites or for different stakes, etc.
Unlike some other Holdem programs which run simulations to play hands and compute winning percentages, Holdem
Coach has been designed to be lightweight, compact, and fast. The Holdem Coach window can reside on the
screen simultaneously with the Poker Site client window with no overlap (assuming a reasonable screen
resolution setting). On an average computer, 100,000 simulations can be run in a couple of seconds which
means that using Holdem Coach won't cause the player to play slowly which is very annoying to everyone else
at the table.
If you would like to participate in the evaluation of HoldemCoach, you can
download beta version 0.6. Once you have downloaded the file, follow the
Installation Instructions to get the program up and running.
The main enhancement in Version 0.6 is the elimination of the necessity to select both a suit and card value
when selecting the cards. This makes this process faster and easier to use. The documentation has not been
updated to reflect this change, but the difference should be obvious.
Since the main purpose for this evaluation phase is to get feedback regarding what features players like
and don't like as well as features that could be added, please
email me with comments and suggestions.
Remember, this is your opportunity to get your two cents in prior to official program release.
The complete documentation is included with the download, but if you would like more information prior to
downloading, the
Holdem Coach Documentation
is available here as well.
