The second film we saw on the honeymoon was Shark Tale. This is the latest entry from Dreamworks for a full length animated feature. The animation was really good. The story sucked. Plain and simple. It was really weak in dialog and story progression. They spent too much on the animation and screwed up the story. This is the big difference between Pixar and everyone else. Pixar is serious about making solid films using new techniques. Everyone else seems to be enamored with the technology and skip out on the parts that make it worth watching. I can't wait for The Incredibles
While we were on our honeymoon, we saw a couple of movies. The first of them was Sky Captain. It was a fun film. Not a really deep plot, but fun. It was done very much in the style of an old serial. The really cool part about the movie was that almost all of the scenery was computer generated. The pseudo-black & white feel was awesome. If you are a sci-fi fan and fond of light plots that are fun, like Raiders, then you should like this. |
