Michael Goes to Australia

From "The Ray Martin Show."

Ray is asking him about fame and being recognized and asks if he had trouble coming through customs

The Michael: Oh no, I had a much easier time this time

Ray: please tell the story. [He's asking him to tell about the first time he came to Australia, 10-12 years earlier, while Some Mothers was running there, and he was just coming on a holiday.]

M: I just walked in, he said, "What's your name?" I said, uh, Crawford, and I'd given him my passport, so he saw. These were much earlier days before immigration .....now immigration, is a lot more friendly, but this was when one man let two jumbos in and you queued for three days. And he said, uh "What's your first name," so I said, Michael, and he said, "I see, " and Some Mothers was quite hot at that time so everyone on the line was going (he crooks his neck around as if to see down the line) and a lot of Japanese tourists saying, "I don't know, I never heard of him," and "Ah, yes he's done ...well he's done a lot of this" (then he cocks his shoulder funny like Frank Spencer used to do alot) So I said, well I don't do it ALL the time. So he's says, "Could I have your attention", so I said I'm sorry, so he said, "What do you do for a living," so I said well I..I..I..I'm an actor, "Oh you're an ACTOR, are you, Michael, and what are you acting in at the moment, Michael?" Well,....uh...nothing at the moment...."OH, you're out of work are you, Michael?" (laughter) "And what are you doing HERE?" As if I was trying to ...haha, ......Oh nothing, I've just come here on a holiday....while I'm... out of work ....haha...but it wasn't the warmest of welcomes....hahah, I think he's got his son working there now....hahahah.

He's basically chuckling and giggling all through this!
