At the Concert

Within the past year I've had so many of my dreams come true because I not only met Michael Crawford, but have performed with him! I belong to the choir that sang on the PBS special with Mr. Crawford. I'm most easily spotted over his left shoulder when he tells his Gene Kelly story. Anyway, he came to my university to rehearse for the concert and I couldn't believe how beautiful he was! Besides this, as I'm sure everyone knows, he is a very sweet and caring man. He told our choir that he may not know all the technicalities of singing, but he sings from the heart and brings out the emotion in the song. Anyone can tell this by listening to him. After rehearsal he even stayed to pose for pictures and sign his autograph on our scores. Then I was pitiful enough to follow behind him as he and the show's director walked to their cars. I just wanted to relish the moment. Well, the show was fantastic and I shook Mr. Crawford's hand afterward to thank him for this wonderful opportunity. A few weeks later my choir recorded tracks in a studio for Michael's upcoming tour, and he showed up at the studio! He personally wanted to get just the right sound. What a professional!
