LE TRESOR DU FANTOME DE L'OPERA, No. 7 in a French Rouletabille comic series
Genre: Comics
Availability: in print
Other Notes: The Rouletabille series has both a POTO-meets-Rouletabille (Leroux's famous detective) book and a "Return of the Phantom" book, too. The first story (just the original POTO) is available in Dutch as well as French, ISBN 90-71987-14-0.

Review: This review is awful, because I have no French background. I can only skim the book, guessing from my Latin background what is being said--and the illustrations help, of course. I have the "Return of..." book, which features a strange storyline in which Erik romps around Venice. That's the word for this book, from what I can tell--strange.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, by Mitchell Perkins and Wanda Daughton
Genre: Comics

Review: The art work, while not what I'd expected, was interesting, but the retelling was bizarre. For a supposed "graphic adaption" of the novel, this Phantom swerves wildly from the Leroux text. One must wonder whether the authors bothered to read the original.
