Jake and Carina attended Jake's 10 Year High School Reunion in Canfield, Ohio in November of 1999.

Jake graduated from Canfield High School in June of 1989.  The valedictorian was Nageen Qadri.  The salutatorian was Jeremy Henry (ME!).  The class president was Chuck Gill.  (I probably still have some pictures from the graduation ceremony sitting around somewhere, but I won't bother putting them on the web because that is ancient history.)

The reunion for CHS class of '89 was held on Friday, November 26th, 1999 at Diamondback Country Club in Canfield, Ohio.  The graduation class in 1989 numbered 189 (according to Patty Cravens).  The flyer passed out at the reunion listed that Derrick Nuzzo and Charlie Crites are both now deceased (as well as Tommy Hazzard, who died in 1985).  At the reunion there were 64 people (at least that is how many people appeared in the pictures).  That calculates to a turnout of about 34%.  I don't know if this is good or bad, but it seemed plenty enough to me.  As it was I didn't get a chance to talk to a lot of people that I know were there.  Catching up on the last 10 years with 63 people is a lot to accomplish in 5 hours.

The reunion committee consisted of Jamie Bauman, Renee Raver, Amy Rossetti, Jenny Hagan, Beth Miller, Megan Crawford, and Amy Furman.  I didn't get a chance to talk to all of these people at the reunion, but hopefully they know that they did a wonderful job and the reunion came off just wonderful.  The committee prepared a booklet that listed what people were doing and what they had been up to in the last decade.  It was far too long for me to try to type or scan, but if anyone out there in web-ville knows Jamie (Bauman) DeLisio, tell her to send me an electronic copy of the booklet and I will put it on this web page.

Mr. DiThomas took pictures of the attendees at the reunion.  I have added the names myself.  If I got any wrong, or if anyone know the names I am missing, please email me at jrhenry@one.net.  Thanks!  Also, Please forgive me for using everyone's maiden names.  I figured as long as I stuck with maiden names it would keep everything straight and I would be much less likely to get someone wrong.

Sorry if this page took a long time to load because I included these giant pictures.  I use ADSL and so it is pretty fast for me.  I just had to include the pictures.  I was, of course, staggered by how good looking everyone was (myself included).  I am convinced that the class of '89 is just starting to hit our stride.  I figure we will continue to grow more beautiful and handsome straight through to our 20th reunion in 2009!

It was weird to see how some people had changed and how some had stayed pretty much the same.  It was possible to recognize most people (although remembering some people's names took longer than others).  And of course Rob Hoffman is a walking example of why those "computer aged" photos on milk cartons are an effort in futility.

In closing, the reunion committee emphasizes to everyone, to "Keep your address current on Canfield High School's web site...  http://canfield.access-k12.org/chs/chshome-2.htm".  From this page, just click on 'Alumni Pages', and then either view or update your information.  My email address and the address of my home page is on the CHS web page.  It seems like a good, logical place to keep track of all the information from the class of '89.  So if you are an alumni, click thru to the CHS web page and see what's out there.  And make sure to send off an email with your current information, email address, home page, etc.

And if any CHS alumni out there have a personal web page and want to send me your URL, I will be sure to put it on my links page.  Just write me at jrhenry@one.net.  (And be sure to send it to the CHS page as well, but sometimes the CHS web page takes a while to get updated).
