Death at Befallen

Saphyre laid in her bedroll near the campfire. She thought of all that happened yesterday and wondered if she and Lapys should try again today. There was no sign of Sohosh there. She asked the fighters coming from down below about him but no one said they had seen him. Later on, her father appeared to see how they were doing. Saphyre asked if Sohosh was in Befallen. Keiote' smiled knowingly and only replied with a number of blessings to protect her and Lapys from harm. He wasn't telling her anything but didn't want her to come to harm either.

Saphyre and Lapys fought the rats and skeletons and managed to make it down to the second level of the dungeon. The search proved fruitless for all they found there were more monsters and fighters bent on killing eachother. Once again, the Patriarch availed himself to help all who were there. Still, there was no sign of Sohosh. After several hours of fierce fighting in an effort to get to next level, the Patriarch of Darkmoon and the young Lapys watched the sad, worn-out prophet give up and slowly make her way back out to safety. Her search has only just started and tomorrow is another day.

Despite all the food and water they brought with them, eventually, Lapys had to go out and find more provisions if they were to attempt Befallen again. Saphyre waited but when the waiting got too long, she decided to go inside the first chamber of the dungeon. Fighting skeletons and rats would help pass the time until Lapys came back.

With safety just a few yards away, the young prophet fought without much trouble. She didn't worry when two skeletons attacked her at the same time. She kept her nerve as her pet dispatched one while she destroyed the other. Suddenly, she heard a growling sound and complaining about being awoken from his sleep. Saphyre turned around and saw her pet attacking a ghoul. She had never fought one before. Not sure how to fight one, she used her most powerful spell on the creature. She cast quickly, knowing that her pet was weakened and time was running out for them. The spell barely wounded the ghoul. Saphyre realized she was in trouble. She tried to run, but she discovered her feet were firmly planted to the ground.

"Oh Dark Father!! He casts spells!!!" Saphyre was mortified. She yelled for help but no one heard her. She tried to run, making slow progress to the entrance but she would get stunned or rooted or both. When her pet was destroyed, she knew the end was near. She tried to gate but the ghoul kept stunning her. Crying out

"FAAAATTTHHHHERRRRR!!!!!!!" Saphyre collapsed. Her last look was of the ghoul coming straight for her. He smiled hideously revealing his fangs and drool,

"Father.." Saphyre whimpered softly one last time before as the ghoul reached down for her hair.

Innoruuk was merciful once again. When Saphyre was returned to the land of the living, she found herself back home. She knew now what to do and quickly memorized her spells. When she called for help Licketh was quick to answer her and without hesitation, she dropped what she was doing to come to Saphyre's aid. The shaken young prophet was safely lead back to Befallen and guarded while she got to what was left of her corpse. The sight of her partially eaten body was too much for her, however, so Saphyre decided to camp when she was done recovering her belongings. Licketh bowed to the prophet humbly and kindly. Saphyre blessed her and thanked her. Then Saphyre sat down and wrote a letter, to be delivered by one of her pets, to her father and to Gammy. In it, she praised Licketh and Gsnot for all the help they have given her and Lapys thus far. Such selfless deeds should always be acknowledged.

It's what being in a guild is all about: Working together; helping and caring for one another. Troll or Elfie.. :))

At a temple in Neriak Saphyre sat with the other prophets of Innoruuk, meditating and worshipping their mighty Dark Lord. She could hear them whispering, deep in prayer, around her. Sitting silently, gazing up at the altar, the young prophet waited and prayed. She had come to thank Innoruuk for bringing her back to her family and to her people. She had also come to beseech the Great Father for any word, any vision, any clue to the whereabouts of her friend and brother, Sohosh. She felt her forehead, hoping to feel the warm glow of the invisible symbol that only appears when she is having a prophetic vision. Much to her disappointment, her skin felt cool and smooth.

She thought of the places she has already looked. Disguised as human, woodelf or gnome, she ventured throughout East and West Commons, Freeport, Kaladim, Kelethin, Felwithe and Ak'Anon. Everywhere she went, she asked about Sohosh. It didn't surprize her to learn that no one had seen him, especially the light races she asked. Did Innoruuk harden Keiote's heart towards Sohosh, just because of one kiss? Is Innoruuk saying that he wishes his prophets to remain celibate, never to know love as others do? Should she continue to defy what the Great Father wants? Was her death in Befallen a warning?

The troubled prophet shook her head in frustration. The worship service was over now and the congregation was leaving. Alone now in the temple, the prophet laid herself facedown on the hard cold marble floor before the huge altar. She lifted her sad emerald eyes up to the image of Innoruuk at the top of the altar and cried quietly beseeching her god for answers and help.
