I emailed Delores about this because I was getting request for some I
had already posted. Delores answered me back on the board and said she
archived them but I can't find them either. I don't know how she
archives that section of the web site. I do like most of you do and
print them out. I have a lot of them to try whenever I get a spare
moment. In fact, when I see a good idea I haven't tried yet I always
print them out. I got a file full of GOOD ideas.

I don't think I know what I'm searching for. I found a recipe containing
coconut and German chocolate cake mix in the 2nd archive, but not sure
which recipe you all wanted. Search by using the Edit-Find in page and
it is easy. Otherwise, I have no idea what has happened to that recipe
and I feel really bad you can't find it.

I wish I could tell you what happened to the recipe. But the Board is
automaticaly archived. I do nothing but provide you a link to easily
access them. Once Marida allerted me, I linked every file. These files
are a bit coonfusing since they don't categorize the subjects. Have you
searched for it? I don't know how to search using aol, but with Netscape
I simply open a page, go to 'Edit' and choose 'Find in page' Fill in a
word and if it is on the page, it will go right to it...or keep
searching by pressing 'enter'

I posted one on October 31 called "coconut snowball" and I might have
posted another one--my head ain't screwed on straight today. Anyway, I
guess what I wanted to know is if you archive by date (all of the
subjects under one date) or if you archive by category. I try to print
out all the recipes posted under mixes so I can try them one day.

Hi Sophie: I don't think many have time for the board this week. I can't find the Italian Cream Cake, but it should be not too far back in the archives if I remember right. I can help you with the red velvet that Dolores gave me the recipe for and I love it!
Red Velvet from a Mix
1 Box of yellow cake mix with butter/margarine
1 stick of margarine
1 cup water
3 eggs
2 Tlbsp. cocoa
red coloring until it is the color you want (I used red paste)
Bake like any other cake.
I used cream cheese mixed with my regular buttercream frosting for the icing.

I know I am not supposed to ask questions, but I can't find Marida's

through archives with no success. Could someone please forward it to
me? I have orders for these cakes this week and would like to make
them today to freeze. Thanks so much.

hi sophie;
i know you wanted to bake a day or two ago, but maybe for future
information:
if you look at the recipe barbara posted, it basically is a white cake
w/nuts and coconut added. sooooooo: i would try using a white mix,
buttermilk instead of water, extra egg or two, and add the nuts and
coconut. you could more or less follow the mixing directions just to
be on the safe(er) side :)
can';t see why it wouldn't work.

Hi Sophie, well since you haven't gotten the one you're looking for,
I'll give you one I printed off the board some time ago. Its not from
a mix, but it is really good. In fact the first one I made for a
customer, I got a note from her telling me how good it was!!
Italian Cream Cake
1/2 c oleo
2 c sugar
2 c plain flour
1/4 t salt
1 t soda
1 t vanilla
1 c chopped nuts
1/2 c shortening
5 egg yolks
1 c buttermilk
1 sm can of coconut
5 eggwhites beaten stiff (I never beat them) (and I didn't either!!)
Cream oleo and shortening and add sugar; beat til smooth...add egg
yolks one at a time (in seperate bowl put the egg whites) combine flour
and soda and salt in seperate bowl...alternately add flour mixture and
buttermilk to mixture...add vanilla...add nuts and coconut...fold in
the egg whites and beat...(I use a Kitchen Aid mixer and have never
beaten my egg whites before adding...) pour into greased and floured
pan.. this makes 1/4 sheet cake..I have doubled the recipe many times
and never have had a problem..
I think maybe Carolyn posted this about a month or so ago. Use cream
cheese icing.

Sophie, I know somewhere on this board is an Italian Cream Cake. I
either posted one but I know I emailed someone a recipe but for the life
of me I can't find it now for you. I guess the one you just posted is
for a white cake mix but it seems to me the one we posted has some
chopped pecans in it. Maybe the person I emailed the recipe to will see
this message and email the recipe to you.

Well, I have a friend that suggested this recipe. I'm going to try it
tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out. If anyone would like to
be a guinea pig on this recipe here it goes...
1 Pillsbury Plus cake mix (w/pudding)
add eggs and oil as recommended (blend one egg at a time)
substitute buttermilk for water
and add 1 cup coconut
and add 1 T vanilla.
I'm not really sure on the added vanilla. Her message wasn't exactly
clear.
Bake as recommended.
Email y'all tomorrow pm.
Happy Holidays!
