OTHER CAKES WITH SMALLER BLOCKS
Place blocks on doubled -16” cake circles
8x11” sheet cake
This cake is a very impressive and popular design I have made many times over the years. You can vary the decorating in many different ways. Or, personalize it with on the side of 8-inch cake.
NEED:
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut the 8x11-inch sheet cake into 12 sections - for (6) 2-layer block-shapes (Fig 1).
2. Using tip 18 pastel icing color of choice,
hold each block in your hand and zig zag ice, tip 18 up-down motion
-
(Fig 3). Set blocks in place on the 16” cardboard (Fig 2).
3. Ice the 8” cake in a pastel color.
Press (using a 8” cake circle) and mark the area where the 8” cake
will be placed on the blocks.
Cut straws the same height as the blocks, (minus icing) and place one
upright, 1-inch from outer mark, into each block.
PLEASE NOTE: Straws should all be the very same height, even if cakes
aren’t.
4. Cut a circle of plastic-wrap and place over the 8” marked circle
on top of the blocks.
(This will prevent the icing pulling off the blocks when you disassemble
cake to serve).
5. Pipe baby items on sides of the blocks, tip 6. Add a rose on top of each block. Pipe tip 4 “ABC” or glue candies on with icing. Add tiny drop flowers around the “ABC.” Add tip 18 top and bottom white borders.
