POSTING A PICTURE ONTO THE SITE

From Dolores: With this message board (4/8/04), it is easier to post pictures. All you need do is to give the URL exactly as it really is located on the web like so: http://www.sugarcraft.com/namepicture.jpg (if this is the name of the website and also the name of the picture) - in the IMAGE URL box and it will show up. Be sure that if you had used caps in the save, that you must also post the very same here. If it was not caps at all, be sure to use lower case.

Hi Tami,
Here it is....
You need to type:
IMG SRC="http://yourwebsiteaddresshere/picturename.jpg"
Then put a < in front of the IMG and a > after jpg"

Michelle

yes, Shirley's right with the code...one more thing though that i had so much trouble with...if it doesn't work, go to your site, and right click on the picture you are trying to pull up and go to "properties"...it will give you the direct path address to type in the middle of the
"http://
and the
.jpg"
My address I have to use is not the same as my web site address, so if it doesn't work for you...try that.
;o)

Dolores
If you go to your web site and check in the address box above it, you will see the 'path'...such as this one:
http://w3.one.net/~proicer/cakepict/goodies.htm
Now, if my picture is called wonder.gif - I add that too
like so:
http://w3.one.net/~proicer/cakepict/goodies.htm/wonder.gif
With what the others told you about the 'string' it should show you the picture is you do the above with the string they gave you. Lets see if it will put that picture here like I said above:

File title: "There’s a picture here"

Pictured is the Wondermold cup
SUGGESTIONS:

  1. Only use caps if thats the way the original file is named. It won't ever show up if you switch the case.
  2. NEVER allow spaces in the file name! You can't FTP a file with a space and so it may not be read.
I have a special macro key made so all I have to do is add the certain file involved after adding the main part with my macro. (A macro is like a recording of a few words and you have hot keys to re-type it instead of retyping it manually.
Well, actually I have a keyboard with macro KEYS. I program the keys any words I want and just press that button. I have 24 keys I can program like that. It is super!

Sort of a correction: Here is the path I gave you of my picture I posted:
http://w3.one.net/~proicer/cakepict/goodies.htm
Note that the end is 'goodies.htm'
This is incorrect. My path should have been:
http://w3.one.net/~proicer/cakepict/wonder.gif (with the string of course)
This is because I have the picture in the folder called 'cakepict' so I don't give the file name that shows that picture. All I have to do is lead me to the picture itself. Not to the file too. See?
Okay...put all our comments here in the FAQ file - it works!
