FROSTING PICTURE PROBLEMS

HINTS FOR MULTIPLE CIRCLE

FROSTING SHEET 2" ROUNDS
KJFS2RND - These Frosting Sheets can be used on all Kopyjet printers. However, the format of the sheet is designed to match the default setting of the BJC 4300, 440O, 4550, 5000 and 5100 printers. In order to use these Frosting Sheets with any other printers, BJC 2000, 3000 and 6000, it is necessary to manually enter the X and Y spacing for the tile print. The following directions include this correction.
1. Open Photo Express
2. Scan in the picture, or open file that you want.
3. Go to "ENHANCE". At the top select "SELECTION" and choose "SIMPLE SHAPES"
4. A pop-up bar named "ATTRIBUTE TOOL BAR" will appear. Under this select "Shape = CIRCLE under "OPTIONS" select "Draw from center only". Ensure that fixed size is not checked.
5. Put your mouse cursor in the CENTER of your picture and then while holding down on the left mouse button, drag the circle out until it covers the part of the image that you want in the circle.
6. Go to "ADJUST" part of Photo Express, at the ton select 'CROP' and the unwanted part will become white.
7. Select "RESIZE". Resize image to be 2.13" inches (you have to keep going back in until it is just the right size exactly. Or it may be too large etc....Dolores)
8. Add text if desired
9. Select "FINISH". Select "PRINT" Select "PRINT TILE"
10. Under"OPTIONS" Select "CUSTOMIZE"
11. Check for the following settings
12. Row = 4 Column= 3
13. x-0.37y =0.28
14. Keep Original Size - Checked
15. If the values are different, change to these settings
16. Ensure that paper size is selected at 8.5" x 11 " and is set for portrait
1 7. Place a frosting sheet in the printer to right side of printer, so that arrow is pointing down at lower right hand corner of the paper
18. Select PRlNT"

FROSTING SHEET 3 " ROUND
KJFS3RND - These frosting sheets are designed for use with the with all Kopyjet printers.
1. Open Photo Express
2. Scan in the picture at 200 dpi, or open desired file and convert to 200 dpi if required.
3. Go to "ENHANCE". At the top select "SELECTION" and choose "SIMPLE SHAPES"
4. A pop-up bar named "ATTRIBUTE TOOL BAR" will appear. Under this select "Shape = CIRCLE". Under "OPTIONS" select "Draw from center only". Ensure that fixed size is not checked.
5. Put your mouse cursor in the CENTER of your picture and then while holding down on the left mouse button, drag the circle out until it covers the part of the image that you want in the circle.
6. Go to "ADJUST" part of Photo Express, at the top select "CROP" and the unwanted part will become white.
7. Select "RESIZE". Resize image to be 3.21" inches
8. Add text if desired
9. Select "FlNISH'. Select "PRINT' Select "PRINT TILE"

10. Under "OPTIONS" select "CUSTOMIZE"
11. Check for the following settings
12. Row = 3 Column= 2
13. x = 0.50 y = 0.0
14. Keep Original Size - Checked
15. Ensure that paper size is selected at 8.5" x 11 " and is set for portrait
16. Place a frosting sheet in the printer to right side of printer, so that arrow is pointing down.
17. Select "PRINT"

If your sheet won't feed through, push on it gently and it probably will.

If you can't get it to print at all or you have streaks
  1. Go to START / SETTINGS / PRINTERS - roght-click on the 5100, choose Properties/Maintenance and clean the printhead
  2. If that doesn't work, it may be because you don't use it often enough and the ink is simply dried. Try soaking it in water for a few minutes.
  3. You can remove the printhead, cartridge and all between use. Place in a ziplock bag sealed...so the ink doesn't dry.
